Denver, CO, October 9, 2015 - When Helping Hands in Denver, CO set out to make the world a better place for a family in need, they turned to System Pavers, a company known for its charitable projects for families with challenges, physically or financially.

Each year, Helping Hands, a community outreach program of the Douglas Elbert Realtor Association in Denver, chooses a family in need and provides a home improvement project. This year, they chose Bob and Laura Thompson of Parker, Colorado, and completed improvement projects to the interior and exterior of their home. Volunteers repainted and re-carpeted the interior of their home while System Pavers completed a new, paving stone patio to enable them to spend more quality time outside.

“Working with Helping Hands was a very fulfilling experience for us,” said Josh Erlich, VP of Operations for System Pavers Pacific Northwest region which includes Colorado. “It’s an important part of our mission to enable people to have greater joy by enjoying a beautiful setting at home, especially those who are not able to get out much. Knowing the Thompsons can enjoy a beautiful outdoor setting every day is what gives our team joy at work.”

System Pavers completed an outdoor patio with a stair access for Bob who suffers from multiple sclerosis, and his wife, Laura who has pre-frontal lobe dementia. According to Bob, caring for his wife is a full-time job and being able to spend even a little time outside in a beautiful setting is a welcome reprieve.
