System Pavers teams up with Military Makeover to deliver a space the Veteran Colon-Ruiz will enjoy for generations.
System Pavers had the honor of working with the Lifetime TV Network and Montel Williams' Military Makeover show to transform a veteran's home in Texas.
The Texas System Pavers' crew worked tirelessly to upgrade the Colon-Ruiz family's backyard. In one week, our team tore down a failing pergola, ripped up a cracked and faded concrete slab, and completely renovated the entire backyard space.
This project was our chance to say thank you, and in our own small way, repay Carlos and his family for what they’ve given to our country.
The Homeowner
Veteran Carlos Colon-Ruiz was selected for a total home renovation because of his dedication to serving his country and family.
Severely wounded when a rocket-propelled grenade exploded in his Humvee in Afghanistan, Carlos was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and is now considered 100% disabled by the VA.
Today, Carlos lives in Arlington, Texas and is a devoted father of three and an athlete who regularly competes in Ironman races and marathons. System Pavers was honored to help transform his home.
