It is that time of year when everyone starts “decking the halls” and “hauling out the holly”. We all spend lots of time making sure the inside of our home is warm and holiday cozy but have you thought about decorating your outdoor living space? There are so many ways you can take your decorating style outside creating a festive atmosphere for friends and family to enjoy.

  • Consider your decorating style and take it outside. Take fresh or dry holiday wreaths and add it above your outdoor fireplace and back doors.

  • Don’t forget about your windows, wreaths add an elegant touch. Make sure that if you use fresh garland that you mist prior to hanging it. And keep it out of direct sunlight so it doesn't dry out.

  • Use lightweight fiberglass urns to add weight and texture for centerpieces for your table. Add greenery to the urn and place holiday balls on top to create a beautiful display for your outdoor living area.

  • Another idea is to use faux boxwoods to fill the urns and decorate the trees with lights and bulbs. Making them look like miniature Christmas Trees.

  • Select ornaments in a uniform color to make a stunning display. Make sure these are placed somewhere away from strong winds and little hands.

  • Candles always set the mood and can be used at varying heights to create asymmetry. Add them to your fireplace for a warm glow.

  • Don’t forget the lights. They can be wrapped around a pergola post or tree to add a festive flair. With so many light choices you can create a festive holiday outdoor living space the people will love!

  • And last but certainly not least, don’t forget the music. With so many great holiday songs being played during this time you will want to make sure your outdoor media system is playing all of your favorite tunes.
