Roasting and Toasting Ideas for Any Event
It's always time for some more s’mores whether you live in a city, the country, or the backwoods of the pacific northwest. And your favorite wine with cheese amidst a glowing fire never goes out of style or off-season. Nor does sitting outside on a quiet patio, no phones, no TVs, no distractions but the occasional cricket while reflecting on past times with current loved ones.
There’s just something about camp fires that warms the soul, even in summertime. But with our hectic lifestyles that don’t seem to let down when kids are out of school, we don’t often get a chance to enjoy the calming influence of crackling wood, hearty smells, and of course the sticky treats all “campers” of all ages enjoy. With today’s outdoor living systems, we can light up in a moment’s time and start roasting or toasting with no planning ahead required.
Here’s some tips for enjoying campfire therapy at home, anytime, any day of the year:
1. Commit to Convenience. Even though you think you’ll get around to buying wood for a fire in a home made pit by your garden, stocking up on charcoal and matches, chances are you won’t. And if you do, its easy to run out of time and energy just thinking about building it and stoking it. Make a commitment to campfires this summer and beyond by investing in a gas fire pit that lights up with a switch without compromising ambiance.
2. Try something different. Instead of the same s’mores every time you light a fire, try some new twists. Cut up chunks of chocolate, bananas, and nuts and when your hot marshmallows come off the stick, insert them inside the marshmallows and enjoy with a spoon.
3. Create a comfy sitting room by your fire pit. With a gas fire pit with a controllable flame output, you can create the right amount of heat for any activity. A soft flow for reading or dining light, a warm robust flame to warm up cold feet, and a medium fire to snuggle under blankets and warm up on lazy evenings at home.
No matter the occasion or treats served, siting by campfires with friends and family is one of the highlights of any summer. And there’s no better place than home to light up and relax.
