I’m going to sound like a broken record, but virtually everything you can make inside – you can make outside.
And while many of you already know this, I bring it up because of a conversation I had yesterday. Chatting with a friend about what she should make for a group of vegetarian eaters at a small beach bbq, I suggested she make veggie tacos. I though it seemed like an excellent suggestion – but she had one (in her mind) big concern. “But I heat tortillas at home In oil a non-stick pan, so how will that work at the beach on a tiny hibachi?” How will it work? It’ll work great is how it’ll work.
First, forget the oil. Tortillas need only heat, not heat & oil. And second, you can use a pan on the grill just like on a stove if and they’ll be great. Or even better, just throw them right on the grill, cuz the direct flames will make them even better. It’s simply a mind change, that’s it. And not even a big one.
So imagine what you could do with a real bbq in your backyard? With more space…more heat and a full kitchen at your disposal, the possibilities are pretty much endless.
